NEED FOR RELIGIOUS AND SOCIAL CHANGEVER IF WE ARE TO HAVE A PEACEFUL WORLD TO LIVE IN

TED Talks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes.

Karen Armstrong looks at religion's role in the 21st century: Will its dogmas divide us? Or will it unite us for common good?

While the objectives of the speaker are great, how are we to change the thoughts of HARDCORE IDEOLOGUES (viz Pak, Arab, African Terror Groups etc.) all who want to subdue inhumanly all other religions of the world. Even though talks of compassion and religious tolerance are spoken of in Singapore and Malaysia, unless there is a total freedom of expression allowed by these nations, religious and ethnic minorities have to live in fear of not antagonizing the ideals of the majority in these nations.

That's why European nations and USA have progressed far better than other nations.

I am not belittling our poor but real progressive free India. Here too it will take sometime to get rid of
archaic village traditions of Khap Panchayats, and to stop most of religious processions etc. But the
beauty of all this is that there are gradual social behavioral changes for the better taking place in India.

Look at the basic tenet of social behavior amongst most of the Arabs as shown below.
It may take 1 or 2 more generations to change the mindset of such archaic primitives.

Gallantry in Iran ...
In Iran, men have a curious sense of gallantry ...
