In 2010, a group of scientists and explorers stepped onto the shore of the lake of boiling lava in the depths of the crater of the volcano Nyiragongo, which is located in the heart of the African Great Lakes region. The team wanted to walk on the banks of the largest lake of lava in the world. Photographer Olivier Grunewald was a meter away from the lake, which makes us enjoy the unique views of molten lava.
