India finally met their match in Australia in the second semi-final of the cricket World Cup at the Sydney Ground on Thursday.
Their top batsmen, save Dhoni (65) and Ajinkya Rahane (44), failed to fire as they went down by 95 runs.
Set 329 for victory, the defending champions were shot out for 233 in 46.5 overs.

"The Indian fans in the crowd were incredible earlier. I never thought I'd see Australia play an away game at the SCG," tweeted former Australia captain Allan Border.

With a capacity of around 42,000 seats, close to 30,000 of the crowd rooted for the Men in Blue.
The co-hosts playing the second semi-final in Sydney were not surprised to see more than 70 per cent of the stadium in a hue of blue.
The atmosphere in the stands was intense and noisy. The SCG was covered in sea of Indian flags and shirts. As usual, the drums and the conches were out in full force which made dancing inevitable.
But as Indian wickets kept falling, the merry-making soon died down.
Team India's winning streak, which included seven victories on the trot in this World Cup, and 11 in sum since the last edition, was halted.
Australia extended their winning run over India at the SCG to 13 in 15 matches.
