There are many Indian business men who have recognized themselves globally in their respective professions. Along with it they are becoming familiar for the big bucks they are making.
Becoming a billionaire might not be an easy task and does not happen overnight. While trying to find out the reasons behind the success of these Indian billionaires, one question that strikes our mind is, does the university they have graduated from has made them what they are today?
"Luxpresso" has listed out 10 of those universities that has made India's billionaires.
1. University of Pennsylvania
Anil Ambani's Net worth: $2.6 Billion
Anil Ambani's tactful business skills are something that is imbibed in his genes from his father Dhirubhai Ambani, India's biggest tycoon.
He improved his sharp skills during his MBA programme at the University Of Pennsylvania Wharton School. At the time of his graduation he also won the first Wharton Indian Alumni Award, which he later donated to the 300 people who were seated at the auditorium named after his father Dhirubhai Ambani.
2. University of Baroda
Mukesh Ambani Net Worth: U.S. $ 27.5 billion
The Owner of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani graduated from University of Baroda. To pursue MBA he went Stanford University in California. However, later he decided to drop his studies since his father wanted him to take care of the growing Reliance Empire.
Since Dhirubhai Ambani was offered to start a private manufacturing industry for polyester filament yarn in between stiff competitors from Tatas and Birlas, he decided not to leave this deal. This was the time Mukesh backed his father in establishing Reliance group of industries.
3. Stanford University
Azim Premji's Net Worth: U.S. $12.2 billion
Azim Premji, Chairman of world renowned conglomerate Wipro is an engineer by qualification.
Currently he is the third richest person in India and is the 41st richest person in the whole world with a personal wealth of $12.2 billion.
In one of his interviews Azim Premji says "I strongly believe that those of us, who are privileged to have wealth, should contribute significantly to try and create a better world for the millions who are far less privileged".
4. London Business School
Lakshmi Mittal Net Worth: US$ 16.5 billion
This British based Indian Steel magnet completed his graduation in commerce from St. Xavier's College, Calcutta. Later he pursued MBA degree from London Business School.
After finishing his education he joined his father's steel company in 1970s. Within few years he founded Ispat Steel. Today, he is the founder and CEO of Ispat International; which later merged with LMN Holdings to create Mittal Steel in 1994.
5. London Business School
Cyrus Pallonji Mistry Net Worth: $9.7 Billion
Cyrus Pallonji Mistry, 43, was the Director of Tata Sons and Tata Elxsi, India. His family is the single major share holder of Tata group after Tata's retirement.
Mistry is the sixth chairman of Tata Group in its history of 144 years and only second one who does not carry the "Tata" surname.
He did his basic graduation from the Imperial College in London and later to pursue his master degree he went to London Business School.
6. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
Adi Godrej Net worth: $9 billion
The chairman of Godrej Group, Adi Godrej has completed both his graduation and MBA degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has always been active in the field of education.
Previously he has served as the chairman of Governing Council of the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies. Even today he is part of the Governing Board of the Indian School of Business.
7. London Business School
Kumar Birla Net worth: $8.0 billion
Kumar Birla completed his MBA from London Business School. Today, he is one of the Honorary Fellow of the London Business School and is a certified CA He has also become the board member at the GD Birla Medical Research & Education Foundation.
8. Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce
Cyrus Poonawala's Net worth: $3.9 Billion
He known as India's vaccines man as Poonawalla's wealth surged on mounting sales of a five-in-one vaccine made by his Serum Institute of India, which he founded and runs. The company is one of the world's biggest vaccine manufacturers and sells them in 140 countries at prices well below its corporate competitors.
Poonawalla spent his child hood in Pune, India and complete his education from Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce.

Shiv Nadar Net Worth: $6.2 billion
The Indian business tycoon is a philanthropist, founder and chairman of HCL and the Shiv Nadar Foundation. As of 2012, his personal wealth is $ 6.2 billion and has also bagged in many prestigious awards like the Padma Bhusan.
Nadar holds his engineering degree from The American College, Madurai and degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore.
10. Punjab University
Sunil Mittal Net Worth: $8.3 billion
The business tycoon started his schooling from the Wynberg Allen School in Mussoorie, but later attended Scindia School at Gwalior and he graduated in 1976 from Punjab University, Chandigarh, with a Bachelor of Arts and Science for which he studied in Arya College for Boys, a local college in Ludhiana.
Along with being a successful businessman, Sunil has also supported many social causes. His foundation named the Bharti Foundation has managed to set-up 236 schools across five states.
