നെഹ്രുട്രോഫി ചമ്പക്കുളം ചുണ്ടന്. പുന്നമടക്കായലിലെ വേഗപ്പോരില്‍ കരുത്തരായ ശ്രീഗണേശനെ തുഴപ്പാടുകള്‍ക്ക് പിന്തള്ളിയാണ് ചമ്പക്കുളം ഇത്തവണ ജലരാജാവായത്. ഫൈനല്‍ പോരാട്ടത്തില്‍ ഇല്ലിക്കളം മൂന്നാമതായും പായിപ്പാടന്‍ നാലാമതായും ഫിനിഷ് ചെയ്തു. പുതുതായി പണിതിറക്കിയ വര്‍ഷം തന്നെ ജേതാവായതിന്റെ തലയെടുപ്പോടെയാണ് ചമ്പക്കുളം ചുണ്ടന് ട്രോഫിയുമായി മടങ്ങിയത്. പഴയ ചമ്പക്കുളം വള്ളം കാലപ്പഴക്കംകാരണം വിറ്റിരുന്നു. പതിനൊന്നുതവണ നെഹ്രുട്രോഫി നേടിയിട്ടുള്ള കൈനകരി യുണൈറ്റഡ് ബോട്ട് ക്ലൂബ് 1250 മീറ്റര്‍ ദൂരം 4.37.11 എന്ന റിക്കാര്‍ഡ് സമയത്തില്‍ തുഴഞ്ഞാണ് ചമ്പക്കുളം ചുണ്ടനില്‍ വിജയക്കുതിപ്പ് നടത്തിയത്. നയിച്ചത് ജോര്‍ജ് തോമസ് തേവര്‍കാട്. രണ്ടാംസ്ഥാനത്തെത്തിയ ശ്രീഗണേശന്‍ 4.39മിനിട്ടും23 സെക്കന്‍ഡുമെടുത്തു ഫിനിഷ് ലൈന്‍ കടക്കാന്‍. കൈനകരി ഫ്രീഡം ബോട്ട് ക്ലൂബ്ബാണ് കഴിഞ്ഞ രണ്ടുതവണ നെഹ്രുട്രോഫി ജേതാക്കളായ ശ്രീഗണേശനില്‍ തുഴഞ്ഞത്.
