അമേരിക്ക ജൂലൈ 10-ന് ദേശീയചെളി ദിവസമായി (മഡ് ഡേ) ആഘോഷിച്ചു. പ്രസിഡണ്ട് ബരാക് ഒബാമ ആഹ്വാനമനുസരിച്ചാണ് രാജ്യത്ത് ആദ്യമായി ചെളി ദിവസം കൊണ്ടാടിയത്. രാജ്യത്തെ ആയിരക്കണക്കിന് കുട്ടികള്‍ ചെളി ദിവസം ചെളിയില്‍ പൂണ്ടുകിടന്നാഘോഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. മിഷിഗയിലെ വെസ്റ്റ്‌ലാന്റില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള ചെളിദിവസക്കാഴ്ചകള്‍ . അസോയിറ്റഡ് പ്രസ് ഫോട്ടോസ്.
