The scientific description of lightning is "a sudden electrostatic discharge during an electric storm between electrically charged regions of a cloud, between that cloud and another cloud, or between a cloud and the ground." An average bolt of lightning carries between 10 and 100 million volts. Lao-Tzu, an ancient Chinese philosopher, once said: "If lightning is the anger of the gods, then the gods are concerned mostly about trees." By looking at these, it seems that their anger is now focused mainly on manmade landmarks...
