New Delhi, August 16: A local court was baffled when an 8-year-old came in worn out clothes to pay the loan taken by his mother before her death. According to a Gulf News report, Sudhir Kumar's mother Anita Devi of Singhaul village of Bihar's Begusarai district, took a loan of Rs 21,000 from the State Bank of India, 10 years ago.

Anita took the money to run a family business, but her husband Sunil Mochi showed no interest in it. Sudhir was born in 2008. Unfortunately, Anita died in a road accident in 2012 and at the same time her husband Sunil ran away. After the incident, the relatives took care of the 8-year-old.

Recently, the little boy received a notice from the bank asking him to repay the amount that was taken by his mother, 10 years ago, as a loan.  When the boy asked for the guidance of the villagers, they came to his rescue and quickly raised Rs 5,000 to pay the first instalment.

The Judgement: The amount Sudhir was asked to pay by the bank after his mother's death was waived by the Lok Adalat organised in Begusarai district, considering his tender age.

Lok Adalat: On Saturday, the little boy turned up at the Lok Adalat to pay the debt but seeing his age and financial situation with no support of a family, the district judge-cum-chairman of the Lok Adalat, Gangotri Ram Tripathi, summoned the bank officials and ordered an instant waiver of the loan against Rs 5,000 deposited by the boy.
